What this metric measures
Contact time covers compression and rebound while the athlete remains in contact with the trampoline bed. The exact boundary depends on the measurement method.
How Trampoline Lab calculates it
Body-worn IMU timing is preferred when synchronisation is verified. Video can provide a proxy when feet and the trampoline plane are visible and frame rate is sufficient.
How to interpret it
Review contact time with flight time and rhythm. Shorter is not always better because action type, bungee setting, body mass and technique change the result.
Limits and responsible use
Video-only contact time is sensitive to frame rate and occlusion. It must not be presented as force or impact.
