What this metric measures
Flight time is a phase-timing measurement. It must retain the phase-detection method and confidence because video, IMU and laboratory contact methods do not have identical boundaries.
How Trampoline Lab calculates it
Preferred output uses video and body-worn sensor consensus. Video-only operation may use foot contact when valid or a calibrated hip/body-centre trajectory proxy when contact is not observable.
How to interpret it
Use flight time to describe airborne timing and as one input to height and rhythm analysis. Do not apply universal beginner-to-elite bands to fitness rebounders without product-specific validation.
Limits and responsible use
Frame rate, motion blur, mat visibility, foot occlusion and phase-boundary errors materially affect the result.
