What this metric measures
Pause count is derived from motion segments, not simply from moments with no counted jump. A session with one continuous movement segment has zero pauses.
How Trampoline Lab calculates it
The motion timeline is divided into active bouts using phase events and inactivity gaps. The count is normally the number of active bouts minus one.
How to interpret it
Use pauses to explain continuity and to separate elapsed duration from sustained activity. Pausing can be intentional and is not automatically negative.
Limits and responsible use
Thresholds for inactivity affect segmentation. Camera obstruction can look like a pause when it is actually tracking loss.
